USD80,000-USD95,000My client is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for construction projects specifically within multifamily, mixed-use, federal, healthcare, and commercial construction projects. This role will report directly into a Project Manager and Senior Project Manager and will have support from Project Engineers on the construction projects. The role of the Assistant Project Manager will include the following:Provide overall construction management support for single and/or multiple projects to ensure quality control, profitability and client satisfaction
Primary objective is to ensure client satisfaction by understanding the client's vision/objectives for the project, the project delivery process, and financial metrics for the project
Have working knowledge of the overall direction of the project from preconstruction through closeout including contractual and specification documentation compliance, managing team collaboration, and meeting or exceeding the project's forecasted profit goals
Provide training, mentoring and coaching to peers and support staff
Contribute to company's culture, mission and values through thought leadership and actions
Set up, maintain, distribute and ensure timely document return for all documents that will pertain to the project to ensure procedural and contractual compliance both internally and externally
As assigned by Project Manager, manage subcontractor performance in conjunction with Field Operations and take action to resolve performance issues

5-8+ years of successful completion of construction projects as an Estimator or Preconstruction Manager
Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, Prolog
Ability to interpret construction documents
A strong knowledge of construction industry laws, contracts, finances, insurance claims avoidance, and liability aspects
Knowledge of construction engineering principals: methods, schedules, estimating, materials, and sequencing

They are an established construction contractor that has focused on creating relationships with their clients for continued repeat business. About 96% of their business is repeat and complete both ground up and interior construction projects. They have been steadily growing the past 15 years and have continued to deliver high quality projects and win construction work even through economic downturns. They have around 150 people within their company and work on construction projects throughout the Chicagoland area.Base salary between $80,000 to $95,000 (dependent upon experience)
