Description
Do you have the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical users in an understandable and concise format? You may be a good fit for Robert Half's Desktop Support Technician role. Problem solvers who prefer to work in a challenging and positive environment may succeed this Desktop Support Technician role. This Desktop Support Analyst role is a long-term contract / temporary to full time opportunity based in the Chicago, Illinois, area. This person will need to have a car to be able to travel around to different client sites!
Major responsibilities:
- Retain, investigate, and restore computer systems, hardware, printers, and computer peripherals
- Offer your support on a variety of computer hardware and software issues by identifying, researching, and resolving technical problems
- Interact regularly and effectively with ticket submitters
- Solve computer problems, and implement appropriate action/solutions
- Administer computer desktop support in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Support records of daily data communication transactions, issues and remedial actions taken or installation activities
- Hardware repairs with the appropriate vendors
Requirements
- Ability to quickly write reports, business correspondence, user instructions, and procedure manuals
- Adeptness in Hardware Troubleshooting
- Microsoft Office 365 experience desired
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft Windows
- Deep understanding of VoIP
- General familiarity with MS Windows 7 in an Active Directory environment
- Comptia A+ experience highly preferred
