Consultant- DevOps Engineer

AltaSource Group is looking for a DevOps Engineer for our global wealth company in Chicago, IL!



As a DevOps Engineer you will be joining a motivated team of professionals working to engineer infrastructure solutions for entire breath of the firm, including Portfolio Managers, Analysts, Quants, Marketing, Compliance and Operations. You will gain exposure to a variety of partners at all levels, from Senior Technology leaders to Senior Business partners. In addition, you will obtain exposure and experience in the latest technologies. They are adopting a wide array of technology and approaches from some of the most proven Open Source projects to tried-and-true enterprise platforms.



The team facilitates change to a range of business areas, front, middle and back-office. This role will be a contributor for defining and implementing their overall approach to DevOps for now and into the future. The right candidate is someone with a passion for infrastructure development and understands that automation incorporated organizations lead to a competitive advantage.



This position will involve the build out of both strategic distributed systems as a greenfield development and the improvement and migration of current and legacy systems.



Day to Day, you will:



Ensure technical expectations of deliverables are met on projects.

You are directly involved in building and testing deployment pipelines, automated provisioning of infrastructure.

You will work with practices, Infrastructure as Code, Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration.

You have hands-on knowledge with container technology (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes, Fargate).

Attend and participate on daily-stand-ups.

Maintain, support and deploy all products that are required for software development and delivery.

Your knowledge and skill-set should include:



Strong expertise in advanced AWS services, moving beyond Infrastructure as a Service to enable rapid, reliable, and scalable deployments.

Solid understanding of the practical application of DevOps philosophy, Agile methods, Infrastructure as Code.

Experience with set-up and maintenance of continuous integration tools (CodeDeploy/CodeBuild).

Some experience with set-up and maintenance of automated testing tools.

Passion for and ability to work with software engineering teams releasing production-ready software on a daily basis.

Experience administering application servers, web servers and databases (Nginx, Microsoft IIS, SQL Server, Postgres).

Proficiency in building Linux and Windows systems (RHEL, Ubuntu, Windows).

Expert knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Powershell, etc.).

You have a working level of knowledge in the networking and security (IAM) space.

Understanding of complex event-driven solutions.

Experience with application performance monitoring and using data to determine appropriate scale.

Experience with messaging and data streaming platforms.

Automation Testing: Selenium, NUnit

Monitoring: Cloudwatch, Prometheus, Grafana

Logging: ELK Stack





Pay Rate: Up to $75/hr. DOE

Note: This position is an onsite contract role with the potential to extend or convert full-time. Our client is unable to consider candidates who require H1 visa sponsorship for this role. Please no corp-to-corp or 1099.
