The Director will report to the Chief Administrative Officers of the Cardiac and Neuroscience Service Lines and serve as a member of the senior leadership team within both service lines. This role is responsible for annual service line budgeting, capital planning and procurement, financial management, and will be responsible for aligning long-term financial planning with strategic and operational initiatives. The Director provides leadership with the service lines and partners with Rush system leaders to optimize operational efficiencies across the service lines. The Director utilizes Lean methodologies, performance improvement strategies, and fiscal management to achieve goals. The Director also develops the service lines’ operational and capital budget and will assist in the development of new business and program development within the service lines. The individual who holds this position exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.Position Responsibilities:

Provides financial management and analytical support for both the cardiac and neuroscience service lines including both inpatient and ambulatory locations across the Rush system including Chicago, Oak Brook, Aurora, Oak Park, and Lisle.

Oversees budgeting processes including evaluation and analysis of Rush financial reporting to identify variances and make strategic decisions to achieve favorable fiscal performance.

Develops metrics for financial performance and decision support for business areas of the service lines.

Supports senior leaders with profitability dashboards, reporting, and analysis of financials to aid in decision support.

In collaboration with service line leaders, develops and monitors operational and capital budgets at the system level, including up to 10 practice locations across the regional area.

Provides monthly analysis of financial performance identifying performance gaps and improvement approaches.

Supports revenue cycle by ensuring clinical and research billing is conducted in a timely manner and all related revenue procedures are captured.

Assists operational leaders in optimizing operational efficiencies within the service lines by presenting financial impact.

Provides analysis of funds flow, run rate, P&L, and Axiom reporting.

Partners with faculty members and other organizational stakeholders in implementing operational and clinical policies and procedures that impact fiscal performance.

Supports the delivery of value-based care throughout the system service lines.

Directly manages a team with administrative and financial reporting responsibilities.

Partners with leaders and stakeholders to optimize the continuity of departments under the service from a financial perspective.

Responsible for developing the clinical trials office research budget, providing fund management, submitting clinical trial revenue for studies, and establishing authority controls on restricted funds.

Collaborates with administrative and physician leaders to set goals and monitor performance of disease-specific programs.

Systematically develops provider proformas.

Assists service line leaders in developing, monitoring, and managing the service line salary structures for 100+ salaried employees and 150+ providers.

Position Qualifications Include:

Master’s degree in business or a healthcare related field required.

At least 10 years of finance experience required.

Previous administrative or supervisory experience required.

Financial and analytical ability required.

Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Maintains confidentiality of all financial reports.

Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and interacts effectively with others in difficult situations.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Ability to meet established deadlines.
