Job Description

The Transportation Analyst occupies a pivotal role in the execution of transportation plans and strategies. They are directly responsible for the order once in OTM through shipment delivery to the customer; including mode selection, load optimization, routing guide compliance, and shipment plan execution. They must work effectively across all CS&L functions, and cooperatively with numerous service providers, to ensure timely pick-up/delivery of FG shipments within client’s varied North American network.

  • Work with the client (cross-functional representatives) regularly by being part of optimization/continuous improvement opportunities / review meetings.
  • Monitor customer order and shipment queries continuously throughout the day. Ensure shipments are optimized through utilization of Oracle report.
  • Facilitate communication/coordination between internal customer group and external carrier contacts to ensure attainment of service level objectives. Focus efforts on timely pick-up/delivery and overall stakeholder satisfaction. Determine root cause of all carrier service failures and log in OTM database, initiate necessary follow-up communication and develop/distribute stakeholder reports.
  • Monitor data flows between OTM, Matrices, Red Prairie, SAP, and other WMS to ensure synchronization of transportation information. Ensure EDI interfaces are functioning properly and carriers are providing required load status updates.
  • Identify gaps in transportation distribution capacity and initiate appropriate corrective measures. Manage overflow shipments and execute auction process per approved methodology. Document routing guide deficiencies and oversee corrective action.
  • Daily interaction with off-site carriers Andon-site carrier partners to resolve service and capacity issues while escalating to management as needed. Support and provide input into the Carrier Scorecard on a monthly basis. Oversee application of all carrier performance management programs and provide documentation, information, and recommendations as necessary to drive service improvement. Hold calls with carriers as necessary.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through control plan execution and actively participate in relevant L6Sprojects. Quarterly working visits with internal stakeholders to facilitate learning/teaching opportunities.
  • Assist carriers with the investigation and resolution of operational issues at customer warehouses and /or facilities through collaboration with Customer Service and/or Site Transportation Planners and Plant Management.

Qualifications

  • Graduate in Supply chain, Business, Logistics, or related field
  • Experience in logistics, demand planning/forecasting, supply planning, or supply chain related areas.
  • Good understanding of MS Excel & general knowledge of other office applications.
