Title: IT asset management ( Industrial Device Operations Lead )
Location: Chicago-WHQ - 60601
Duration: 5 Month ( 960 Hours)

Device Management & Operations
Support Client industrial hardware, PC and printer device landscape, with a strong focus on handheld and forklift mount devices
Lead daily operational and initiatives that support our warehousing and manufacturing device landscape
Work with regional IT leads and vendors to improve on our global device solution
Provide after-hours troubleshooting and/or On-Call availability
Work with vendors/partners to monitor system performance and capacity, and provide periodic status reports to management
Provide support for upgrading production environment to the latest patches and major releases
Participate in cross-team handheld device projects, including new application roll outs and application version upgrades
Assist in the planning of newer handheld device, policy configuration and create/deploy such policies
Take ownership of implementation, testing, and delivery of branch related RF handheld items
Work closely with vendors/partners for support with handheld device activations, deactivations, procurement, troubleshooting, and device replacement
Manage certificate-based integration and authentication on all industrial devices globally
Coordinate with vendor to maintain and administer the VMWare AirWatch environment, as well as maintain the AirWatch infrastructure in multi-location configuration
Work with Vendor/Partner to create and execute test plans for handheld device deployment profiles, applications, and certificates
Upgrade and patch application software within specified timeframes for all Industrial devices across all regions

Procurement and Finance
Fulfill device procurement activity (quote creation, PO request, invoice reconciliation)
Track Vendor orders, ensure requests
Initiate hardware e-auction requests
Track monthly US hardware spend
Track operational and project based asset deployments

Operations Reporting
Maintain global SKU standards for hardware
Maintain inventory status for PC, industrial devices and printers
Work with stakeholders to understand and track license allocations that impact operations (i.e. MDM licenses)
Maintain and share the operational schedule of activities (monthly patch, production schedules, calendar freeze, MEC periods)
Analyzes reports to identify trends and opportunities for process and technology enhancements
Monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of the IT asset portfolio, and update internal controls to maintain accuracy and efficiency

Desired Education And Experience
Bachelor's Degree required with a concentration in business, or computer science/IT engineering
5-7 years of IT Operations experience
2-3 years of IT asset management
Common understanding of IT platforms and technology
Proven experience managing hardware assets at an enterprise level


Knowledge, Skills and Job requirements
Able to travel as needed, less than 5%
Windows 10 and Android OS platform knowledge
Airwatch MDM administration, profile management concepts
Ability to self-prioritize, manage workload and be able to support technology issues to resolution, with minimal supervision and a sense of urgency
Knowledge of warehouse and manufacturing core applications usage on industrial devices (SAP, Matrics)
Ability to manage multiple vendors and respective contractor user accounts
Hold vendor responsible for handheld device and OS support to help resolve end-user device issues
Ability to work in a fast moving environment where multiple competing priorities need to be managed and executed
Inform management in a clear, concise, and timely manner of any customer or technical issues
Skillset and/or knowledge of leading IT asset management , and common understanding of IT platforms and technology (PC/industrial devices)
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of team
Ability to maintain strong working relationships with global IT team and specific clients.
