If so, you may be the right candidate for our full-time Mental Health Counselor position!12 Hour Evening ShiftsPosition Highlights:As a staff member of the Adult Psych Unit,the Mental Health Counselor utilizes basic principles of the biological and behavioral sciences in the management and treatment of patients on this unit.
The Mental Health Counselor is accountable to and practices under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
In addition to Mental Health Counselors, the treatment team includes MDs, RNs, Social Workers, OT, and Art Therapists
Full-time position - Evening shifts

Position Responsibilities:The Mental Health Counselor functions under the supervision of an RN to perform delegated tasks, utilize basic principles of the biological & behavioral sciences in the treatment of patients, and participate in and lead group sessions.
Duties include taking vital signs, bathing patients, leading therapeutic group activities and assisting patients with basic activities of daily living while maintaining patient safety on the unit.
Position Qualifications Include:Bachelor's degree required.
At least one year of experience with chronically ill psychiatric patients preferred.
Must have demonstrated ability to interact effectively with others in difficult situations.
