Physical Education (PE) Teacher

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

 Develop curriculum for the Physical Education program at Elementary and Junior High levels that emphasize healthy physical and mental fitness, habits and skillsTeach assigned classes, groups and rotations based on approved curriculum appropriate to the level and progress of students throughout the school yearMonitor student progress and keep PE/Athletics Director up to date with progress on the group and individual students throughout the school yearCommunicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress, participation, and any behavioral concerns in physical education, providing timely updates and partnering to support student growth and well-beingWork collaboratively with other PE/Athletics staff to develop and enforce effective PE policies, procedures and safety; communicate information to school staff appropriatelyCollaborate and communicate with PE/Athletic Director and Teachers to understand developmental needs of a level and individual students tailoring instruction appropriatelyAssist with maintenance of PE/Athletics environment(s) and equipmentCoach various seasonal sports: Flag Football, Cross Country, Basketball, Track, SoccerAttend up to two (2) week long class trips as assigned by NNM leadership teamAcquire professional training in the educational field by attending educational conferences, training workshops and other related activitiesPerform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested
