We are seeking an experienced SeniorCybersecurity Consultant who has extensive knowledge and well-rounded experience in cybersecurity in Chicago, IL. We are seeking talent local to Chicagoland.
The Senior Consultant will be a team member of our growing Cybersecurity Practice. This individual will engage in strategic and technical activities with clients: support teams to perform assessments, develop cyber strategy, vision, and roadmap activities. This is an excellent opportunity to assist new practice within a growing company.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in a series of planned security projects for external clients.
Hybrid role, with some on-site requirements for clients.
Engage with clients in advisory and strategic discussions to provide outstanding Cybersecurity/IT Strategy and industry guidance to maximize client's long-term business objectives.
Support the ongoing evaluation of cybersecurity capabilities to determine maturity score and effectiveness of capability implementation using the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) across the enterprise.
Assess information security risks and posture for clients.
Assist clients in determining the security gaps and concerns and provide a long-term security roadmap for future initiatives.
Collaborate with client leadership, team members and other stakeholders to understand their capabilities, maturation roadmaps, and facilitate next steps towards improving their overall cybersecurity posture.
Implement planned disaster recovery and business continuity (DR/BC) and incident response (IR) tabletop exercises for clients.
Conduct vulnerability assessments of the IT infrastructure for both compliance and security purposes.
Plan, design, develop and implement of technical controls, procedures and policy associated with compliance to cyber security standards.
Recommend changes to improve client’s cybersecurity posture.
Maintain knowledge of the cyber security capabilities of operating systems, networking devices, and control systems.
Maintain a broad knowledge of current and emerging state-of-the-art computer/network systems technologies, architectures, and products.
Perform various other duties as assigned.
Travel may be required for some projects.
Qualifications Education/Experience
5+ years of relevant hands-on work experience in Cybersecurity
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science is preferred.
CISA, CISSP, OSCP certification or similar is preferred.
Proven work experience in implementing successful security-related projects.
Strong proficiency in security protocols and frameworks with the confidence and experience to implement new security projects.
Proven ability to interact and create a positive and collaborative working environment with corporate, business, vendor, and technical resources.
Experience in mapping existing environment to security frameworks for maturity ratings
Experience providing security and technical guidance and expert advice to management and other groups.
Ability to work independently, and with groups, with limited supervision.
Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of NIST, ISO, CIS and similar cybersecurity frameworks
Knowledge of network security and use of the Internet, including authentication, access control, firewall rules/configuration, disaster prevention, data recovery, intrusion detection and data encryption.
Understanding of IT security policies and procedures
Working knowledge of Incident Response (IR) plans.
Knowledge of Active Directory Domains, Federated Services and Wireless Access Points from a security standpoint.
Knowledge of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and how MFA relates to security authentication with applications
Knowledge of OS and system patch management.
Ethical hacking skills are a plus.

Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
