job summary:

Our healthcare technology client in Chicago is looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to join their team full-time! The Senior Software Engineer will work in a remote capacity with a more formal return to the office later this fall. They'll act as a leader on the Engineering team working on software & architecture strategy, design, development, implementation & maintenance.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Principal Architect and Engineering teams to design and implement system architecture and create technical documentation
  • Own one or more specific areas of the architecture and become an expert in areas like HL7/FHIR integration technology or referral architecture
  • Lead product requirement and design reviews with Product Managers and Engineers
  • Create plans and estimates during the release and sprint planning processes and own accountability for team progress
  • Manage team scrum tasks (standups, retros, grooming) and development processes
  • Evaluate and make recommendations to improve the development processes

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of enterprise software development experience, experience with Web/UI Technologies
  • BS or MS in computer science or equivalent
  • Microsoft .NET experience (ASP.NET, C#, ADO.NET)
  • .NET MVC, .NET Core, .NET Web APIs and RESTful web applications experience is preferred
  • JavaScript experience required, front-end frameworks (React, Vue.js, Backbone.js, Node.js, Knockout.js) experience is a plus
  • Experience writing SQL queries is required
  • Experience writing unit tests and working in a test-driven development environment
  • Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) strongly preferred
  • Microsoft SQL Server and ETL process (Azure Data Factory or SSIS) experience is a plus
  • Experience with Visual Studio, Git & Developer toolchains (such as node, npm, Grunt, Gulp or Webpack) a plus
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly
