Venture backed DeFi startup is hiring for a protocol software engineer! This startup is building marketplaces that increase the efficiency and liquidity in decentralized markets as the first protocol to power decentralized order flow markets. They are the first movers working on an incredibly important unsolved problem in DeFi and their team background is well-poised for solving that problem quickly and correctly, with backgrounds in high-frequency trading, financial markets, and FAANG tech at companies. They are committed to bringing the same levels of market sophistication seen in traditional markets to decentralized markets in order to enable the next wave of crypto adoption through building beautifully designed decentralized software and crypto user experiences.

The Core Protocol Software Engineer role would involve helping building and maintaining these new market mechanisms that will power the future of decentralized finance.

Job Details

Skillset & Responsibilities
  • Strong experience with at least one programming language, including how that programming language works under the hood
  • Experience with C, Python, and/or Rust. Rust experience is not required, but preferred. Also open to Haskell, Swift, Java, Golang, C lang, or similar
  • Experience with distributed systems, operating systems
  • Understand compiler design, and features of modern compilers (e.g. Hindley-Milner type systems)
  • Strong understanding of good library design
  • Excellent software engineering workflows and practices (e.g. git, CI, unit testing, etc.)
  • The skillset that makes a good protocol engineer also intersects with high-frequency trading engineer. Therefore, industry experience in Fintech, Quant, Capital markets, trading, crypto, or related is highly preferred!

Pluses
  • Experience programming in resource-constrained systems, either latency or compute
  • Experience with the Solana programming paradigm, and the Anchor framework
  • The compensation package will include a competitive token allocation
  • Typescript experience
  • Web3 or related experience
