Role Summary/Purpose:

The VP, Analytics - Strategic Furniture Clients Leader is responsible for leading this newly formed analytics team to develop analytic capabilities, solutions, and actionable insights for consumer credit products for two key furniture clients (Rooms to Go and Sleep Number). This will involve marketing analytics, customer analytics, segmentation, forecasting, reporting, and other activities related to improving portfolio performance, including new account acquisition, customer experience, retention, and operational effectiveness. This leader will closely collaborate with the client teams and internal business partners to drive profitability and growth for the credit portfolios.

This position is remote, where you have the option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and own the analytics agenda and provide innovative leadership to evolve the analytics strategy based upon the state of the business and potential opportunities
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to combine product, channel, and credit strategies into a unified roadmap to deliver a unique customer experience to grow acquisition and increase customer repeat purchases
  • Conduct analysis of product and channel performance to uncover insights that inform critical decision-making to drive profitable outcomes
  • Partner closely with broader Marketing organization to execute integrated marketing campaigns leveraging personalization and segmentation
  • Act as a trusted advisor to solve complex business problems and provide actionable recommendations based upon data driven insights
  • Establish a test and learn culture and provide guidance and leadership for the design, analysis and measurement phases of campaigns and large-scale projects.
  • Ongoing assessment and measurement of product, channel and targeting strategies
  • Implement and automate data visualization tools to measure and diagnose portfolio performance that allow stakeholders to understand trajectory of KPIs to enable better forecasting and management of the portfolio
  • Evangelize the value of clients sharing their data assets to drive acquisition, account management and portfolio strategies to improve portfolio performance.
  • Provide strategic thought leadership and influence the internal SYF client team and client partner teams to implement profitable marketing and offer strategies rooted in analytics
  • Develop business case presentations and action plans to drive marketing strategy; including targeting recommendations, test design, cross-sell optimization, product opportunities and cost/benefit analysis to review with client and SYF Marketing teams
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or in lieu of degree a high school diploma and 9+ years of work experience establishing and managing marketing or portfolio analytics in the financial services, credit card and/or payments industry
  • A minimum of 7+ years of functional work experience to include:
    • 5+ years of leadership/managerial experience within the financial services or credit card payments
    • 3+ years using statistical analysis tools
    • 2+ years leading large-scale analytics projects
    • 2+ years of client facing experience

Desired Characteristics:

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, averaging 10-20% travel.
  • Ability to be hands on with analyses and documentation/presentation creation
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field or MBA with Systems and Marketing specialization strongly preferred
  • Ability to develop executable strategies, build and lead teams, articulate a clear vision, and deliver results
  • Strong ability to engage with business teams and cross functional teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to engage effectively with a broad range of audiences including senior business leaders, other senior analytics leaders, and highly technical talent
  • Ability to influence business strategies and decisions based on analytic insight; Ability to influence senior corporate decision makers
  • Proven hands-on experience utilizing SAS and SQL; Experience with open-source tools such as R and Python a plus; Experience with Tableau a plus
  • Experience with modeling/forecasting, and strong understanding of targeting and segmentation
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Experience using external data sources to drive growth for clients
  • Ability to ideate, design and lead development of analytic capabilities and solutions
  • Solid understanding of credit card industry financial P&L drivers and key sensitivities, with business performance reporting experience
  • Ability to synthesize/analyze complex and diverse information and to develop and recommend strategies and communicate them clearly
  • Strong project management, communications, multi-tasking, relationship management and influencing skills and the ability to work independently are critical to success
  • Digital marketing analytics experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complexity/ambiguity and multiple initiatives
  • Advanced skills using Excel and PowerPoint

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).

The salary range for this position is 100,000.00 - 200,000.00 USD Annual

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
