MACHINE OPERATOR LAMINATION - 1st SHIFT

Job Summary:
G+D has an outstanding opportunity for a Machine Operator in our Lamination Department at our Bolingbrook plant on 1st shift working Monday through Friday 5:30am-1:30pm with required overtime during our peak season. We are searching for a positive and experienced worker looking for a long-term position that enjoys physical work, guiding staff, and ensuring results. The successful candidate will also enjoy taking on new duties as the role progresses.
Duties & Essential Job Functions:
Prepare, supply, and operate the machine during the production process and monitor relevant stages to ensure that products are manufactured according to established parameters.
Understand and execute the entire range of machine functions and operating sequences.
Load materials onto machines in the required order and sequence.
Read job specifications and previous run data (if available) to set machine parameters and material requirements.
Prior to performing maintenance on the machine, ensure proper Lockout/Tag-out procedures have been followed.
Meet or exceed job standards for line speeds, scrap rates, and setup times.
Load and unload stock efficiently and safely.
Maintain department inventory and supplies, ensuring everything is accounted for.
Report any maintenance needs to the Maintenance Department promptly.
Collaborate with the Quality Assurance department to ensure product specifications are met.
Complete all required documentation and data entry accurately and in a timely manner.
Verify material conformance to specifications.
Maintain cleanliness of the work area and equipment, ensuring a safe and organized workspace.
Verify that guards at pinch points and potential burn areas are present before operating the machine.
Conduct thorough inspections to ensure the highest quality standards.
Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) policies and procedures, taking immediate action to correct safety and security issues.
Ensure the operation of equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, and troubleshooting malfunctions when necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum of 6 months of experience operating machines in a manufacturing environment.
Willingness to work overtime; must be willing to work 10-hour shifts and some Saturdays during our peak season.
Requires eyesight correctable to 20/20 and normal color perception. Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including; reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
Strong verbal and written communication in English.
Ability to focus and perform precision hand movements when operating machinery.
Must be able to regularly lift 50 pounds and work safely around machinery.
Strong problem-solving skills related to machine setup and operation.
The pay for this position starts at $16 per hour and is eligible for an annual bonus.
