Grant Writing & Fundraising Specialist

Tolton Spirituality Center is seeking a seasoned fundraiser to join our mission-minded team and take on the role of grant writing and fundraising specialist. In this role, you will use your expert writing, communication skills, and keen sense of initiative to spot fundraising opportunities, establish and maintain professional relationships with potential donors, and create and manage fundraising campaigns. By writing grants, coordinating events, recruiting sponsors, encouraging support through promotional activities, and leading volunteers, you will hone your speaking, writing, and leadership abilities while moving Tolton Spirituality Center closer to its financial goals.

An ideal candidate will be motivated, creative, professional, and organized, with a knack for research. The candidate should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong leadership qualities, exceptional event planning, and organizational and presentation skills.

Objectives of this Role

Research grant opportunities from government and non-government agencies

Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organization

Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities

Study and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs, and financial needs of the organization

Promote awareness of the Tolton Spirituality Center's mission and work

Cultivate a network of dedicated donors

Spot new fundraising opportunities

Plan fundraising initiatives to help the organization meet financial goals

Form strong relationships with donors, event and program sponsors

Ensure major donors are satisfied and kept in the loop

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

Research individuals, grants, corporations, and foundations that may be interested in gift-giving

Effectively convey the Tolton Spirituality Center's mission, vision, and programs to potential donors

Craft grant applications and fundraising proposals

Strategize and successfully execute fundraising campaigns

Coordinate and conduct in-person and virtual fundraising events while overseeing volunteers

Manage and stay within fundraising event budget and track whether income goals are being met

Skills and Qualifications

A minimum of three years' fundraising and grant writing experience

Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills

Ability to lead and motivate volunteers

Strong attention to detail

A passion for research

Adept at managing tasks, planning events, and balancing priorities

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in communications, business, public relations, or a related field

Certificate in Fundraising, Diploma in Fundraising, or similar qualification

Competence in Microsoft Office suite and donor management systems

Experience writing grant proposals, press releases, and fundraising letters

Confidence in public speaking

Experience with Catholic organizations is a plus

Legal or accounting experience is a plus
