Period: 36 Months (Probability to extend) Shift: Hours of work flexible M-F 8-4:30 (OT as needed) Duties:
Proficient user of Altair Hypermesh pre-processor, Hyperview post-processor, and ABAQUS FEA solver
Build structural analysis models of harvesting components and systems using finite element analysis (FEA) modeling tools
Conduct stress and fatigue analysis of crop harvesting equipment subject to vehicle dynamic and crop processing loads
Work closely with global design teams to resolve structural and durability issues and enable simulation guided design early in the PDP process
Write reports summarizing analysis methods used, results, and design recommendations
Skill Requirements:
Familiarity with combine harvesters or other off-highway equipment
Experience in sheetmetal and/or casting design and structural analysis
MS degree in engineering, with coursework in engineering mechanics, finite element methods, and fatigue theory (BS degree in engineering would of course be a requirement)
Experience with times series data analysis using Glyphworks or related tools
Understanding of stress life and strain life fatigue theory
