The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) organization is seeking an Experienced Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Engineer (Level 3) to join Boeing in St. Louis, MO for an exciting opportunity supporting various proprietary national defense programs! Position Responsibilities:

The engineer is expected to execute Reliability & Maintainability including but not limited to:

  • Lead R&M technical support for various National Defense programs with minimal technical oversight.
  • Support the development and maturation of technologies critical to national defense. This includes developing requirements and reliability/maintainability demonstrations.
  • Communicate results of analysis to various Boeing teams and Government customers. Be able to respond quickly and effectively to embedded Government customers on analysis and modeling.
  • Lead Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEA) which involves reviewing components, assemblies, and subsystems to identify failure modes, and their causes and effects.
  • Development of Criticality Analysis which is used to chart the probability of failure modes against the severity of their consequences.
  • Construct integrated system reliability models from component analysis.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Export Control:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Technical Bachelor's degree (A technical degree is defined as any four-year degree, or greater, in an engineering, mathematics, or scientific field of study.)
  • 3 or more years of experience performing reliability and/or maintainability analysis.
  • Experience performing Failure Mode and Effects Criticality Analyses
  • Experience coordinating with / interacting with avionics suppliers.
  • Active Secret Clearance


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Master's Degree in technical field
  • Experience with or degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in the Aerospace Industry
  • Experience with Mission Systems / Subsystem Development
  • Familiar with avionics modifications, integration, and upgrades
  • Experience with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)


Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
