Description Robert Half is searching for a Senior Accountant for a short-term contract / temporary opportunity with an exciting organization in the Service industry. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, account analysis and reconciliations, financial statement preparation and consolidation, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This Senior Accountant position offers you great experience and a strong compensation and benefits package and is based in the Elmhurst, Illinois area. Apply today!Your responsibilitiesPrepare reconciliations of Balance Sheet accounts
Realize compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures and controls by working with business partners
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Continually improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Other projects as required
Implement monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP
Work with internal and external auditors to coordinate quarterly reviews and testing
Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Analyze financial results (benchmarks, trends, performance metrics) Requirements - Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
Financial reporting systems proficiency is a plus
Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports
A strong track record of communicating, both verbally and in writing, with functional department managers
Experience with ERP systems
Journal entries experience
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Minimum 5-7 years of overall general accounting experience
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Vow to meet business deadlines
SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus
Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
