Description: JOB TITLE: Network Operations Field Engineer II
MUST HAVE SKILLS (Most Important):
Computer experience/skills connecting to & provisioning equipment. Project management skills in completing milestones, updating trackers, and communicating with multiple stakeholders on projects.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Ericsson RAN network experience with 4G & 5G Networks such as the 6701/6630/6648/6649 equipment and Nokia router experience with 7705, IXRe, and IXR-S is most desired. Integration experience with Ericsson RAN equipment and Nokia routers also a good quality for success in the position
JOB DUTIES:
Responsible for the proper operation of a large group of Network Elements. Duties in support of interdepartmental objectives, to support the activation of new sites and integration of network hardware and interconnect facilities. Other responsibilities include testing and analyzing network coverage to ensure contiguous communication and network integrity and quality; updating daily logs with site-specific information; composing clear and concise reports for system documentation; and performing activation tasks as required by Local, Regional, Area, Corporate or Regulatory agencies. The Field Eng- Cells is expected to be able to perform his duties with little supervision, and participate in cross-functional projects as scheduled. Contractor will be working at multiple locations on site in the Chicagoland area. They will need to have a vehicle in running order. Travel costs in the Chicagoland area will be covered by the contractor with a typical day having less than 30 miles of total driving.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred. 5 years of experience.
LOGISTICS:
Shift: 8AM - 5 PM 1st shift work 95% of the time with some flexibility needed on some days may be necessary
Contractor will be required to travel to multiple general contractor warehouses and cell sites perform work. Contractor will drive to different locations near Chicago to perform integrations & other work related to the role
