Role: BI Reports Developer/Admin
Location: Illinois
Description:
The BI Developer/Admin will be responsible for working with BI Developers across the enterprise to guide them through creating new reports in Power BI, migrating existing Tableau reports to Power BI and walking them through implementing Tableau reports development best practices where migration to Power BI is not possible.
BI Developers design, develop and maintain business intelligence/analytics solutions. The BI Developer who will fill this position will also have some Power BI Gateway admin skills to assist with operationalizing Power BI Gateway.
Building and deploying dashboards and reports through self-service while following security and governance best practices.
• Improve the efficiency and performance of dashboards and reports.
• Extract data from disparate sources, e.g. SQL Server, Teradata, flat files.
• Analyze & tune database queries for improving throughput.
• Perform troubleshooting.
• Onboard developers into Power BI
• Assist with Power BI admin tasks
Skill set:
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer science or related field.
• 5 + years of BI/Analytics with experience in Enterprise projects involving business intelligence solutions
• 5 + years of direct work experience with Tableau and Microsoft Power BI in developer role with some admin experience
• Ability to understand database schemas, navigate objects
• Experience with analyzing and tuning SQL queries.
• Ability to work with multiple developers to port dashboards from one data visualization platform to another seamless to business users.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency with multiple BI tools.
• Experience working in a team yet self-directed
• Ability to manage multiple deliverables independently
• Strong verbal and communication skills and a passion for excellent customer service.
• Strong information gathering, analysis and documentation skills
