UnityPoint ClinicsPeoria1.0 FTR8a-5pm M-FAmbulatory informaticists serve as an integral member of the electronic health record (Epic) support team. Key responsibilities include direct involvement with the development, implementation, training and support of the electronic health record. The informaticist identifies and seeks approval for enhancement requests and assists in the prioritization and implementation process associated to this change. The role serves as a liaison between IT and end users, and may assist with other applications as assigned.Client/End User Education· Develop a complete understanding of the EHR application(s) and teach the application(s) to others within the organization, following the standardized and best practice curriculum.· Provide educational updates on clinical and/or registration/scheduling/billing applications to physicians, providers and/or staff through classroom sessions, 1:1 instruction, or using remote technology. May assist with education programs for other end users as needed.· Identify and develop EHR workflows to support process changes and enhance the overall workflow of the clinic or department.· Coordinate training programs with the various functional departments to achieve and reinforce organizational goals. This may include programs specific to quality, regulatory or insurance requirements and incentives.· Participates in pre-planning and on-site support activities associated with the onboarding of new providers and/or new departments.· Communicate all EHR-related information to affected staff, physicians, and providers in a timely and effective manner, using a variety of methods when appropriate.Assessment/Planning· Oversee and assess EHR competency levels of staff, physicians, and providers, and recommend action to strengthen performance and increase efficiency.· Interact with IT, clinic management and operational leadership to monitor effectiveness of training efforts. Monitoring may include routine review of reports and utilization data used in the development of action plans.· Serve as chair and/or participate in committees and workgroups, as needed, to address specific issues or assist in the development of revised or new programs. This may include agenda preparation, meeting coordination, and submitting timely minutes/documentation.· Coordinate data and reporting needs with the end user and reporting team, as needed, and analyze data or submit reports as assigned.Customer Service/Technical Support· Support the end user and IT in resolving EHR or computer related issues, which may include the submission and/or tracking of service tickets.· Identifies, tracks, and seeks approval for enhancement request, and assists in the prioritization and implementation of these system changes.Basic UPH Performance Criteria · Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.· Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.· Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.· Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.· Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.· Is knowledgeable of compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of administrative leadership. QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum RequirementsIdentify items that are minimally required to perform the essential functions of this position.Preferred or SpecializedNot required to perform the essential functions of the position.Education:· Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare related field or equivalent experience (minimum four years) in medical practice management or healthcare related IT systems/training.Experience:· Nursing/clinical and/or medical/billing office background preferred.License(s)/Certification(s):· Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.· Must achieve Epic credentialed trainer status for clinical and provider and/or registration/scheduling/billing curriculum as assigned within 4 to 6 months of hire.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:· Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.· Basic computer knowledge using e-mail, SharePoint, and web browsers, and Microsoft office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.· Experience with electronic health record functionality.Other:· Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position. · Ability to travel within and outside of the state, using a rented, personal or company vehicle.Requisition ID: 2019-65772 Street: 120 NE Glen Oak Name: 9200 UnityPoint Clinic Affiliate Name: Clinic Technologies FLSA Status: Exempt Scheduled Hours/Shift: Days External Company URL: http://www.unitypoint.org
