PMO Manager- Senior Digital Program ManagerDescriptionReporting to the Dealer IT & Digital Integration Mgr. The PMO Manager establishes the framework, project plans etc. needed to drivel timely, quality and efficient implementation of all Dealer IT and Digital Back-Office initiatives. The DPS/PMs report to the Dealer Connectivity & Data with a dotted lined to the PMO for reporting and PM execution compliance. Specifically, the PMO Mgr is responsible for:
Setting up a PMO structure to govern and deliver successful completion of Digital & IT Dealer
impacting Initiatives to our Global Dealer channel. Principally Helios, our Digital Platform
The Program manager manages multiple projects, and sometimes multiple programs with project
managers managing the teams responsible for the project tasks and deliverables; ProjectManagement, Schedule & task management: Vendor Management, Project Impacting Dealers
Defining, developing and distributing tools, processes and templates for project management.
Define & develop project reporting, risk / issue / change and communication management
processes.
Align with the CAT Digital Operating Model & Portfolio Management Principles.
Enbed & encode dNPI in to Project Planning & PMO activities
Dealer Demand Management – Work with Business units to prioritize initiatives and conduct high
level review of initiatives business value, dependencies, overlaps, and alignment with LeadershipTables.
Consolidated master view of “Projects Impacting Dealers” for review quarterly with the ERP
councils and BEM’s.
Work with ERP councils to develop ERP Community Program Plan.
Collaboration with ERP PM’s to put PM structure and governance around vendor development
work.
Governance on adoption of Microsoft Project On-Line & Integration to DevOps
Project Manager Coaching, compliance, standards and performance KPIs & Project Mgmt.
Cost tracking & Value tracking
In-depth knowledge with Caterpillar functional areas, policies, and procedures. Advanced human relations skills are needed for a cooperative working relationship with others inside and outside the department. A successful candidate needs to be able to multi-task and be able to shift from one project team meeting to the next from one program to the next. A successful candidate will have extensive experience working with all different levels within the company and across different organizations. Areas of experience and qualifications will include but are not limited to:
Ability to facilitate project and Multi-Generational project planning workshops
Experience setting up and managing a PMO
Training PM’s on Project Management discipline
Mentoring PM’s – Coaching PM’s on project management, risk management/risk mitigation, team
building, Business Case Coaching
Project/Program Management tools and techniques
Ability to build Program level business cases and track them
QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
A 2-year Associates Degree from an accredited college or university
Certification & experience in at least 1 recognized PM methodologies; PMBOK, Method 1,
Kerzner, Young Clark & Associates, Agile
PMI for Program Management and Risk Management.
Understanding of the Dealer Business Model and supporting operational Processes
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Certification in multiple project management methodologies (3,000 hours experience) and in
Risk Management
4 year degree from an accredited college or university or the equivalent of 10 years job related
experience in Program Managementwith a track record of successful program & projectoutcomes
Experience with agile process management supported by credentials and qualifications
Advanced Communications Skills - Ability to clearly instruct project managers and their team
members and relay or coach PM in preparing updates and progress information to committees,directors and other management.
Strategic - the ability to ensure alignment with the program or goals of the organization and to
formulate plans to stay within budgets and timelines and handle unexpected events.
Problem-Solving - The ability to respond to unforeseen events or problems and mitigating risks.
Discernment Skills - Understand the high-level details and technical aspects of specific projects
