Position Summary:
Performs a variety of functions in collaboration with cross-functional teams to support fermentation and downstream process operations at the facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Operates, controls and monitors various process equipment including make-up tanks, fermenters, conveyors, rotary valves, pneumatic blowers, pumps, tanks, process piping valves and controls, dryers, scrubbers, centrifuges and evaporators, boilers, turbine/generator, filters, etc.; applies understanding of aseptic protocols and practices for sanitation.
Participates in ongoing training on equipment and process operations to support effective job task performance.
ÂCommunicates and collaborates with team of process technicians and supervisor to effectively support operations; may direct the work or task assignments of general laborer (contract position).
Performs cleaning and sanitation tasks to support sanitation program, good manufacturing practices (GMP) and adherence with standard operating protocols.
Adheres to workplace safety policies and procedures, and demonstrates commitment to continuous safety improvements; reports all unsafe activities to supervisor.
Assigned to a rotating 12 hour shift, working an equal number of days and nights over a 4 week interval,ÂMaybe occasionally required to provide coverage on other shifts other than the assigned shift.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
High school graduate or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience in chemicals, vegetable oils or pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred.
