Conagra Brands, be part of building something BIG.Job SummaryAssists Material Planner in planning and purchasing of packaging, raw materials and other supplies of goods and services from approved suppliers in a manner consistent with approved quality standards and delivery requirements. Develop the purchasing function to advance the goals, objectives and interests of the company. Back up for other department members as needed.Position Responsibilities#8226;Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Research and Development and Marketing departments to maintain and improve quality of packaging and raw materials and develop new products while maintaining seamless customer service to other departments#8226;Work closely with Production Planner to maintain correct and effective level of material inventory to support the production schedule.#8226;Review packaging materials for advance booking of orders to maintain continuity of supply. Manage inventory levels at suppliers as needed#8226;Coordinate and facilitate supplier visits and plant trials.#8226;Review purchased items with Quality Assurance to ensure quality of materials and ensure adherence to company specifications#8226;Document and resolve supplier quality and performance problems. (PQM)#8226;Problem solve supply and service problems, ensuring seamless customer service to all other departments#8226;Support Lean Supply Chain pillar objectives.#8226;Actively engage in plant safety, quality and operations activities as recommended.#8226;Maintain a working knowledge of other purchasing functions including raw materials. Act as fill in for other department members as needed#8226;Assist in planning and performance of company physical inventoriesPosition Qualifications#8226;High school diploma or GED equivalent required, bachelor's degree preferred#8226;Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets data including fractions, decimals and percentages.#8226;Ability to write reports and categorize and file data.#8226;Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and coworkers.#8226;Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.#8226;Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.#8226;Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.#8226;Must be able to read and interpret production reporting.#8226;Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.#8226;Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.#8226;SAP experience preferred#8226;Must be willing to have a flexible schedule (available on weekends) if business needs require itPhysical Requirements#8226;While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.#160; The employee frequently is required to stand and walk.#160; The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; taste and smell.#160; The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.#160; Specific vision abilities required by this job include cl
