JOB SUMMARY
Clerks are responsible for a variety of tasks in the call center, nourishment area, assigned nursing unit, and kitchen as assigned. Clerks will need strong customer service skills, strong communication skills, phone etiquette, the ability to work independently, organizational skills, a willingness to work as part of a team environment, and basic therapeutic diet knowledge. This position has a strong presence in front of patients with a variety of illnesses. Clerks will be on their feet for the majority of a twelve hour shift walking, standing, bending, and lifting. Clerks may also be required to sit at a desk for an entire shift. Basic computer knowledge is helpful as well as knowledge of the Illinois health code. This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values while supporting the strategic plan, goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Process (PIP) at Blessing Hospital.
