Ensures the integration of various elements of technology so that they function effectively for end users. Installs, maintains, and monitors software and servers ensuring proper administration of software licensing and updates. Configures, maintains, and monitors security access control systems.In this dynamic and highly visible role, the Principal Testing Lead will determine network release success, collaborating with some of Discover’s finest payments professionals developing new capabilities and features and working with dedicated network communication teams to promote bi-annual network release changes. Leverage your strong payments knowledge and industry expertise supporting the Discover Global Network (DGN) retained merchant processing platform.Principal Testing Lead will review Network Release and off cycle requirements to build, test, and deploy comprehensive integration tests and automation workflows using industry standard tools with minimal oversight. Utilizes best practices to optimize processes using automation. Reduces incident handling time, change implementation time, and service delivery. Creates monitoring solutions using industry standard tools. Explores new technologies and upscales team members in utilizing these technologies.How You’ll Do It
Creates technology solutions addressing high impact business priorities. Demonstrates the ability to analyze, design, code, test and deploy solutions and product features with high quality to production. Level of technical expertise enables solutions with high complexity and depth.
Competent in multiple technical domains, including programming languages, security, automation, testing, and business domains. As a result, is the go-to person for many people outside of their team.
Participates in strategic technology decisions and understands how these decisions impact Discover as a whole.
Proactively identifies and mitigates issues based on intuition and experience in multiple domains. Is a thought leader amongst team members and drives problem solving to determine root cause.
Coaches technology communities at Discover in areas of specific technology domain, design-thinking, agile software development way of working, security, architecture and/or data engineering.
Qualifications You’ll NeedThe Basics
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related
6+ years of experience in Information Technology (Software), Engineering, or related
Internal applicants only: technical proficiency rating of Proficient on the Dreyfus engineering scale
Physical And Cognitive Requirements
Primarily remain in a stationary position.
No required movement about the work environment to complete the major responsibilities of the job.
Primarily performed indoors in an office setting.
Ability to operate office equipment such as but not limited to computer, telephone, printer, and calculator.
Ability to communicate verbally.; Ability to communicate in written form.

Manual Test Scenario Creation/testing
Cypress or other for UI automation, Selenium with Java for API Automation.
Cucumber BDD Framework / CICD Pipeline / Jenkins / Github
Experience with Java and Cloud Technologies
SQL & Some Mainframe testing and/ or automation is good to automate current manual file validations in new tools in future.
