Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineering Manager within our Corporate Services department to lead a growing team of ServiceNow engineers as we build out the future of our Human Resources and Employee Center capabilities on the ServiceNow platform. This is a player/coach role where you'll have the opportunity to continue to build both your leadership and ServiceNow skills, spending approximately 50% of your time performing hands on development work and acting as a technical lead and the other 50% working with your engineers to build a strong engineering practice and culture.

Responsible for the application ownership, development delivery, and support for value streams. Manages a team including hiring, directing, mentoring, and assigning work.

  • Responsible for the technical development of ServiceNow engineering staff supporting our Human Resources and Employee Center capabilities.
  • Be a hands-on Servant Leader and technical Subject Matter Expert, accountable for effectively coaching and mentoring other ServiceNow Engineers on effective engineering practices.
  • Act as a technical lead for one of our development teams, utilizing your technical skill to design and implement solutions to improve our employee experience.
  • Partner with Product Owners, Process Owners, and other Business and Technical leadership to build solutions that improve how Discover's employees do their work.
  • Ensure that design and delivery are consistent with ServiceNow and Software Engineering good practices
  • Manages software ownership and development from initial concept through continuous improvement.
  • Coaches and mentors team members. Supports individuals to achieve their individual development goals. Utilizes Agile and Lean practices to identify an solve systemic issues.
  • Utilizes tools to support data driven decision making. Identifies and removes blockers to enable the team to meet business goals.
  • Consults with management in the analysis of short and long range business requirements and recommends innovations.


Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here's what we need from you:

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related
  • 8+ years of Application Development experience
  • 2+ years of Engineering People Management


Preferred Qualifications

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • 4+ Years of ServiceNow Engineering/Architecture experience
  • Experience implementing Employee Center/Employee Service Center, HR Service Delivery
  • ServiceNow Certified Systems Administrator, Certified Implementation Specialist, and/or Certified Application Developer Certifications
