Performs unit-based reception, clerical, and medical record functions. Is customer oriented and able to communicate with all levels of staff, patients and their families. Serves as liaison between patient care units and all other departments. Works under the supervision of the RN/MD in delivering skilled and effective care to the patient in the clinic setting. Utilizes initiative and strives to maintain a steady level of productivity performing decentralized laboratory tests, specimen collection, EKGs and other unit specific skills. Provides basic patient care to non-critically ill patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit, reinforces teaching previously taught by RN. AA/EOE
Required: High school graduate or equivalent. CNA Certification through IDPH. BLS CPR through American Heart Association. Preferred: Healthcare/medical office experience.
