Position Summary: We're searching for a

Sr. Director, Software/Product Engineering to lead the development and support of software solutions within the homecare industry. We want a results-proven technology professional who will work with a team of software engineers, QA analysts and Product IT support specialists to design, maintain and implement custom, web-based software applications. The Sr. Director, must be a collaborative individual seeking an environment where quality, timely delivery, camaraderie, and continuous improvement are part of the foundation of our workplace.


This position can be remote but must travel to our Gurnee, Illinois Corporate Headquarters as needed.

Job Requirements:

Individual-
  • 15+ Years’ experience hands-on
  • software development and managing software and integration engineering teams
  • Demonstrate and drive a culture of ownership and accountability
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience presenting business cases such as costs, alignment, and value
  • Able to create and inspire high performing resources of FTE and contract members
  • Experience working with vendor partners to co-develop solutions

Technical
  • Capable of peer coding and regular detail code reviews
  • Lead design, development, and implementation of software changes for a custom application used by client
  • Strong technical leadership ability including prioritization and balancing competing priorities while maintaining a focus on delivery
  • Define and implement technical and application architecture standards
  • Analyze existing code, identify areas for improvement
  • Architect current and future state of solutions across environments
  • Drive architecture design for technologies that best fit business and IT needs

Leadership
  • Own product development lifecycle
  • Mentor and coach a team of software engineers to deliver and maintain high quality solutions that adhere to technical standards
  • Partner with Product Owners in scoping, phasing, and estimating technical solutions.
  • Research and coordinate with software development teams and Product Owners on technical aspects of projects and assignments
  • Maintain quality partnerships with key IT roles (CTO, Solution Delivery, Infrastructure, Enterprise Data Delivery) and Business Roles (Operations, Strategy, Finance, Legal)
  • Build technical resource plans, ensuring software engineers are focused on priorities
  • Maintain Skill Gap analysis
  • Assess, develop, retain, and recruit software development talent that will support the ongoing needs of IT

- Process
  • Improve Agile software engineering processes and practices
  • Ensure that projects or assignments are on track and completed as promised (Say/Do)
  • Build and maintain detailed knowledge of business operations, strategy, and priorities to establish technical direction
  • Identify and address areas where existing policies and procedures require improvement

Education and Experience:

  • B.S.+ in Computer Science/Software Engineering/Mathematics
  • 15+ years of professional software design experience leading software engineers in a product software delivery approach
  • Experience leading Software Development Teams in an Agile/Scrum development model, working closely with Product Owners. Experience leading teams through all Scrum ceremonies
  • Experience leading development teams building mission critical software solutions that operate in a 24X7 environment.

Travel Requirements:

Limited travel as needed to effectively manage team, partner with process owners and learn the business
