excellence every day.Cardiovascular Recovery (CVR)
14 beds
Mixed acuity unit with RN-to-patient ratios not exceeding
1:3.Cardiovascular Recovery nurses are trained to care for a variety of
cardiovascular disease processes with all levels of acuity. CVR
specializes in STEMI, vascular surgery, and open heart surgical care.
The patient population has progressive care, intensive care, and phase
one recovery levels of care. All nurses working obtain competency in
basic rhythm interpretation and are BLS/ACLS certified. Nurses are
encouraged to obtain their CCRN. Physician approved protocols are
utilized to give the CVR nurses more autonomy and an opportunity to use
critical thinking skills. CVR is a shared governance unit. CVR has a
very high number of clinical ladder nurses. Patient and family
satisfaction is key to CVR team members and is evident in their NCR
Picker scores, which consistently exceed the 90th percentile. Nurses are
trained to care for patients that have an intra-aortic balloon pump
(IABP), continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and hypothermia
protocol. Orientation can be in stages, allowing the new graduate or
less experienced RN to gain skills and knowledge on the progressive care

together we can change everything.QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES? Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing
(BSN) preferred.? Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited
nursing program.? Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.? Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.? Other advanced life support certifications may be required per
