This position reports to the CEO and the Board of Directors and is supported by a Compliance Administrator. Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and enhance policies and procedures to promote compliance with the organization's Code of Conduct and laws that affect the organization's business, with an emphasis on federal fraud and abuse laws and HIPAA Partner with senior leaders to align compliance strategies with business objectives Establish and monitor standards and procedures to ensure that the organization maintains high standards of ethical conduct Chair the compliance committee Serve as the point of contact for regulatory authorities and external compliance auditors Investigate reports of compliance violations, and collaborate with internal and external counsel as appropriate to develop recommendations for corrective action and resolution Develop compliance work plans, corrective action plans and audit plans Perform compliance risk assessment and collaborate with other departments to develop and implement measures to avoid or mitigate compliance risks Monitor training programs for effectiveness and modify training schedule, methods and materials as appropriate to foster clear understanding of compliance responsibilities and ethical expectations across the organization Present compliance training to new hires and other personnel Report on the performance of the compliance program and other compliance matters to the CEO and Board of Directors Maintain an awareness of current laws, statutes, regulations and advisory opinions that impact the business dealing with the organization Serve as the organization's Privacy Officer Knowledge, skills and competencies: Familiarity with Stark Law, False Claims Act, HIPAA/HITECH, Anti-Kick Back Statute, Compliance oversight, Corporate Integrity Agreements (CIA), Staff Compliance Training, Monitoring and Auditing Healthcare compliance certification a plus Progressive leadership experience Demonstrated ability to lead an effective compliance program Ability to communicate effectively with audiences of different educational and professional backgrounds, both orally and in writing Superior critical thinking skills Consensus builder Ability to work independently and collaboratively Maintains poise when managing competing and changing priorities Inspires confidence and projects a positive attitude Proficiency in MS Office Adobe proficiency Quick study Detail oriented Highly organized SIGHTPATH is an equal opportunity employer.
