Summary
The EMT has responsibility and accountability for assuring the delivery of quality interhospital and intrahospital care to patients of all ages using proper techniques and following the standards of care as established by the EMS Commission and the Medical Director. In addition, they will be required to assist nursing staff, physicians and other healthcare professionals in giving adequate care to patients in the ECC. Maintains patient confidentiality, promotes respect and offrs assistance to patients and co-workers.Education
High school diploma or GED required. Additional post high school education preferred. Must have completed a state approved Basic EMT or Advanced EMT course.Licensure Certification
Must maintain a current valid Indiana Driver's license. Must be CPR certified. Basic EMT or Advanced EMT Certification. Must be CEVOII, EVOC, or CEVO III certified or obtained within 6 month of hire into position or an approved comparable driving course.Other Qualifications
Minimum of one year experience as a Basic or Advanced EMT in the pre-hospital setting required. Must meet insurability requirements under Parkview Health vehicle and liability insurance policies, without a "driver exclusion", and/or other insurance modifications and/or high risk classification. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Meets the physical requirements of the position. Must pass the physical exam, including the audiogram.
