These mark just a handful of the ways that Carrier works to make the world a better place to live, work, and play!To continue to maintain our role as a global leader, we are looking for a talented, ambitious, and highly motivated, results-oriented Electrical Sustaining Engineer to join our team in the mobile refrigeration business.This position can be located in either Fort Wayne, IN; or Syracuse, NY.Job Description:Provide technical leadership for the electronics group by supporting international manufacturing teams. Focus on results by driving issues to closure, adhering to schedules, and assuring a quality product is cost-effectively produced.General Responsibilities:Prepare release packages consisting of Bill of Materials, routings, drawings, fixtures/tooling, ECNs, and more. Act as the electrical sustaining product owner including creating, maintaining, and organizing drawings, assemblies, work instructions, and forms.

Collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering team to coordinate implementing engineering and process changes of revised products through ECN's and CAR's.

Support product failure investigations. Perform robust root cause analysis of production issues, product design issues, implement appropriate containment and drive corrective action.

Ensure component reliability based on technical & lab validation of vendor's designs and manufacturing processes.

Apply statistical methods and perform product/process analysis of quality improvements, cost reduction, and improved efficiency.

Coordinate resources between Quality, R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain to take the re-design of a product into production.

Lead weekly DEPRO reviews as electrical project leader of changes to existing products, participant, and independent reviewer, as applicable.

Perform component End-Of-Life engineering activities.

Occasional domestic and international travel to customers and suppliers is required.

Minimum QualificationsMust have experience supporting manufacturing operations in high volume electronic products company with a related technical discipline and at least one of the following:

BS - Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline with 5+ years of experience

AS/AAS – Electrical Technology or related technical discipline with 7+ years of experience

No formal technical degree – Must have 10+ years of professional experience with progressive advancement and related electronic technical training.

Must be able to perform various electronic design-related functions in support of new product development (NPD) and production support.

Working experiences in circuit design, development, and debugging tools (Altium preferred)

Extensive experience with complex circuit analysis in both digital and analog domains.

Working knowledge of robust design tools and techniques including, DFMEA, FMEA, engineering drawings and documentation, ECR/ECN process.

Working knowledge of standard industry PLM tools or equivalent (Windchill preferred)

Strong understanding and ability to perform troubleshooting on components, PCBA's, power supplies, filters, PLC, motors, and other electromechanical components, etc.

Proficient with electronics test and measurement tools (Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Multimeter, etc).

Requires strong technical communications skills in support of designs, root cause analysis, qualification activities, regulatory requirements, and related tasks.

Experience with Bill of Material (BOM) creation and manufacturing process knowledge essential.

Preferred Qualifications:Experience with statistical analysis of complex data sets and design of experiments (DOE).

Knowledge of quality control principles, business processes, and PLM principles.

Project Management skills to effectively manage and complete multiple projects on time and within budget.

Preferred experience with Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques as well as other industry-standard quality initiatives.

Experience with HVAC Control Design or automotive design experience is helpful.
