To provide support to the machine operator during the shift for day to day manufacturing needs.Essential Functions:
Selects, counts, and properly packs containers from forming and printing equipment, keeping pace with the machine and maintaining quality and production standards; makes up, seals, and label boxes; inspects protective packaging materials; uses forklift to move parts and skids to warehouse; maintain a clean and orderly work environment in all areas utilized by the department. Other duties may be assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:
Ability to work under general supervision from line leader and supervisor and train new packers.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Minimum of a High School diploma.
Ability to perform basic mathematical problems.
Ability to operate and functionally use a computer.
Ability to communicate effectively, write effectively, read, comprehend, and follow verbal and written instructions.
Safely operate a forklift and other motorized equipment.
Other duties may be assigned.Working Conditions:
Works indoors in a manufacturing environment.
This position is exposed to occupational hazards including, but not limited to, moving machinery, high levels of power potential, trim presses, high noise levels, physical obstacles, exposure to chemicals, slippery walking surfaces, and moving vehicles, etc.
Exposed to sharp knives and cutters.
Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as designated by the company including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, clothing and footwear in the appropriate areas and must follow safety practices.Additional Job Details: All applicants must take and successfully complete a measuring tape/ruler test.Work Schedule:Day Shift: 2-2-3 schedule, 6am-6pmAs a Volt employee, you can expect the highest level of support.
