Career Services Student Support Representative - Full-Time - Lafayette Campus

Job Summary:

The Career Services Student Support Representative works under the direction of the Campus Director, with dotted line reporting to the Regional Career Services Manager. The primary responsibility of the Student Support Representative is to assist the placement efforts of Career Services by supporting the operational, sales and administrative functions within the Career Services office. Job duties include; greeting and assisting students, sales support, collecting, maintaining, and documenting system data, completing and distributing required paperwork and reports, and maintaining compliance with Department of Education and ABHES procedures as required. This position may support other areas in the campus as needed and will be the designated back-up for the Financial Aid Student Support Representative.

Requirements:

High School diploma with some college course work or equivalent work experience

Associates Degree or Bachelors degree preferred

3+ years work experience in a customer service or general office environment

Professional work experience which clearly demonstrates abilities directly related to the duties of the Student Support Representative

Prior experience in a post-secondary education setting preferred

Prior experience in a regulated/compliant industry preferred

Ability to remain focused and adapt quickly in fast-paced work environment

Ability to work at least two evenings a week

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Job Development and Placement:

Source job leads from internet sites and communicate to Career Development Representatives (CDRs)

Support CDRs with sales preparation and coordination

Communicate job lead and interview information to students

Follow-up communication with students and employers

Document placement activities as required

May arrange job development visitations and complete appropriate forms

Student Career Development:

Participate with new student orientation

Assist students with resume revisions and distribution

Coordinate student mock interviews

Schedule student appointments

Coordinate Graduate Workshop meetings

Greet and assist students and answer and direct incoming telephone communications

Conduct weekly touch base calls with unplaced graduates

Document student interaction in accordance with ABHES requirements

Externship Assignments:

Keep accurate records pertaining to externship sites

Conduct Junior Meetings to prepare students for externship assignments

Assist students with required externship paperwork

Collect and document student externship hours weekly as required

Acquire documentation to assure student is compliant with FA to begin externship

Input student data to graduate students in system

Ensure students are maintaining full time status on externship

Coordinate with instructors to orchestrate bi-weekly faculty phone calls and necessary documentation

Assure the accuracy of final student record is in compliance with internal and ABHES auditing requirements

Coordinate faculty site visits and processes new site approval paperwork

Recordkeeping and Compliance:

Completes daily, weekly and monthly documentation

Complies and keeps current job placement statistics on each graduate

Conducts 30/90/120-day follow-ups on each class

Completes employment verification forms as requested by funding agencies

Conducts graduate and employer surveys

Expected Outcomes:

Achieve required minimum of 70% placement rate

Achieve 40% Extern to Hire rate

Achieve Employer and Student survey results of 90% or greater

Monitor Externship requirements to result in improved On-Time Completion YOY

Compliance with ABHES requirements and successful internal audits

Perform related work as required
