The University Counseling Center (UCC), at the University of Notre Dame, seeks a talented and enthusiastic clinician to join our experienced team of mental health professionals at an exciting time of re-envisioning mental health care and health and wellness promotion on campus. As an integral part of the Health and Wellness Unit, within the Division of Student Affairs, the UCC supports the University's tradition of wellness with quality services, resources, and education to promote the development of healthy students and foster campus well-being.The successful candidate will coordinate the UCC staff in providing diversity initiatives, including outreach to and engagement of the University's historically underrepresented student groups and the development of treatment options for students from diverse backgrounds that are culturally sensitive and meet student needs for prevention and treatment.The University of Notre Dame, a Catholic institution founded by the Congregation of Holy Cross, is one of America's leading undergraduate teaching institutions, and is also at the forefront in research and scholarship. UCC staff also provide consultation and outreach programming to the broader university community and collaborate with other Student Affairs colleagues to address mental health issues and foster an inclusive campus climate. Staff members rotate after-hours emergency on-call coverage for week-long periods three-four times per calendar year. Clinicians are also integrally involved in the UCC's training program in Health Service Psychology that provides supervision and training for both doctoral psychology interns in the APA-accredited internship and practicum students in the University's Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program.This is a permanent full-time, 11- or 12-month position. Anticipated start date is September 1, 2020.Minimum Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an APA accredited Program and licensure as a psychologist and Health Service Provider in Psychology within the first year of employmentORMasters degree in Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy, or Social Work from an accredited program and clinical licensure in the State of Indiana before the start date.Evidence of outstanding skills in clinical assessment, psychotherapy, crisis management, and psychoeducation.Demonstrated experience in development of programming that addresses unique treatment needs of diverse individuals and groups.Two years of experience (can include internship) providing mental health counseling, preferably in a university or college counseling center.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Interest in engaging in the typical work of a university counseling center, including short-term counseling, group counseling, crisis work, outreach, consultation, and training.Ability to work independently and in a team setting.Ability to problem-solve, handle sensitive information and nuanced situations.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in empowering and addressing the treatment needs of individuals from underrepresented and marginalized communities.Proficiency in addressing aspects of students intersecting identities within the context of psychotherapy.Experience and interest in providing group counseling, including both process oriented and skill building groups.Experience and interest in working with mens issues.Experience in clinical supervision of trainees.Bilingual or multilingual.(#LI-POST) (post)ABOUT NOTRE DAME:The University of Notre Dame, founded in 1842 by Rev.
