Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform accurate and timely analysis and reporting of security events from a wide variety of technology sources.
  • Identify anomalous trends in event data to identify potential security issues.
  • Assess, triage, and escalate security events within an incident management process.
  • Periodically report on and assist in presenting incident management effectiveness metrics.
  • Leverage current and emerging threat information to better prevent, detect, and respond to security events.
  • Ensure that all monitoring and response efforts are clearly and consistently documented and retained for historical analysis and reporting purposes.
  • Effectively work with other business areas to identify and address security events.
  • Collect and preserve security incident evidence in a forensically sound manner.
  • Work a scheduled on-call rotation.
  • Assist and act as a mentor to junior members of the analysis team as needed.

Qualifications
  • At least 3 years working in any information security domain with at least 2 year of experience working in a SOC, intrusion analysis, forensics, or incident handling/response role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of a variety of security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, web application firewalls, and vulnerability scanning.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols.
  • Strong understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.
