DescriptionResponsibilities
Oversee the collection of managed care plan quarterly cost reports utilizing online submission tools including web-based extranets and other Excel tools and templates.
Facilitate communication with clients and managed care plans on troubleshooting cost report submission and correction process.
Analyze financial performance of managed care plans by line of business and report findings to internal staff including consulting actuaries.
Error identification and resolution
Reconcile managed care cost reports to National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) statutory filings on an annual basis and facilitate variance research and resolution.
Reconcile managed care plan cost reports to plan submitted encounter data utilizing various tools.
Creation of quarterly executive dashboards in Excel as well as other mediums (Qlikview, Tableau).
Design and implement analytical dashboards supporting State Medicaid agencies and internal actuarial staff.
Communicate results to internal stakeholders.
Ensure quality control processes and procedures are followed.
Qualifications
BS in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of five years' experience in a similar role
Proficient in advanced Excel techniques
Knowledge of Qlikview or Tableau or other similar tools
Experience with Medicaid managed care industry is a plus
Understanding of managed care plan operations and the financial metrics used to evaluate plan performance
Knowledge of medical claims submission process and managed care plan encounter submissions
In-depth knowledge of plan statutory filings and ability to reconcile statutory filings to other plan data sources
Strong organization skills with attention to detail to manage multiple projects at the same time
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate with all levels within the organization
Ability to work within a team environment and independently manage own work
