Line cooks need to accurately and efficiently be able to prepare hot and cold food according to company specs. This includes but not limited to cooking meats, fish, vegetables, soups, and other hot items to order as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. In addition to cooking, line cooks are expected to aid in the safe and orderly storing of food and food products and maintaining the food production area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (included but not limited to)

Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items by using ovens, grills, fryers, and any other piece of kitchen equipment according to the properties standardized recipes

Accepts complete responsibility for food quality that they produce.

Knows and consistently works at our establishments food standard in regards to portioning, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen rules, policies, procedures, cleaning, safety, and sanitation.

Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of prepared foods at line stations to have an easy service.

Prepares items to be cooked during service as specified by the recipe.

Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area, including tables, shelves, speed racks, storage racks, cooking equipment, food preparation equipment, and refrigeration.

Taste prepared food(s) and adjusts for seasoning until the product tastes correct.

Follows proper plate presentation and garnish for all dishes.

Handles, stores, and rotates all products properly according to local health code.

Assists in food preparation during slower periods as needed.

Arrives on time and ready to work at scheduled times

Attends scheduled events and brings suggestions for improvement.

Follows proper kitchen opening and closing duties. Assists others as needed in opening and closing duties.

Preforms related duties as needed or assigned by kitchen management.

Experience:

Prior kitchen experience not required but appreciated.

Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and management.

Culinary Ability:

Ability to maintain or exceed the high standards of the company and insure those around them adhere to the same standards.

Maintain a professional appearance and manner including a positive, honest, and energetic work ethic in a fast-passed team focused environment.

Able to portion and scale recipes as demanded by the task on hand.

Shows excellent knife skill and comprehensive knowledge of proper cooking technique.
