Summary

The Installation Technician is responsible for the installation of sterilizers, equipment/anesthesia booms, surgical lights, and various client products. Each Installation team member will have had prior experience using hand tools and installation experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

Install client equipment.

Attend on site meetings for schedules and contractor coordination.

Meet with and effectively communicate with inspectors and facility IOR’s.

Read Blueprints and follow installation guidelines.

Overall knowledge of the manufacturer’s equipment, ability to read equipment cut sheet

Send daily updates and schedule suggestions to the project manager or Business unit manager in a timely manner.

1-3 years experience installing or working in construction environment.

Basic knowledge, ability to use, and ownership of hand tools.

Clean up job site, remove trash, and leave a clean workspace.

Use a hammer drill efficiently, anchor equipment to a concrete floor, mount equipment to a wall or ceiling.

Solder copper pipe and other plumbing connections.

Install Uni-strut or Hilti and associated brackets for mounting purposes.

Ability to hook up electrical to a Junction Box or shut off.

Works under general supervision

Education and Experience

High School Diploma, technical trade school or equivalent.

1-3 years’ experience in a Field environment.

Experience installing medical equipment in operating rooms, medical offices or sterilization departments for at least 1 year.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to communicate effectively with top management, peers, clients, and/or vendors.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have Must have intermediate computer skills. Knowledge of/ability to quickly learn Contact Management systems; Database software; Design software; Development software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software, required. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required.

Travel Requirements

This position requires 100% travel and frequently requires work or travel on weekends, nights, and evenings.

Physical Activity

Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.

Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.

Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.

Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.

Feeling: Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.

Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.

Physical Requirements

Very heavy work: Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.

The worker is subject to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions.
