HG Metals is expanding our team and seeking a skilled Miscellaneous Rail Welder to support ongoing and upcoming fabrication projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-driven, and experienced in welding, assembling, and installing miscellaneous metals — especially stairs, platforms, guardrails, handrails, and custom fabricated components.
Key Responsibilities
Fabricate, weld, and assemble miscellaneous metal products including rails, guardrails, stairs, ladders, platforms, and structural components.
Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols with accuracy.
Perform MIG and stick welding (TIG experience is a plus).
Lay out, cut, fit, and prepare materials for welding.
Ensure welds meet company quality standards and project specifications.
Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, grinders, torches, drill presses, and ironworkers.
Work collaboratively with the shop team to meet production deadlines.
Follow all shop safety procedures, PPE requirements, and best practices.
Assist with loading/unloading materials when needed.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of welding/fabrication experience required.
Strong MIG welding skills; ability to pass a weld test.
Ability to read tape measures, drawings, and fabrication sketches.
Familiarity with layout tools and fabrication techniques.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods.
Reliable, punctual, and committed to craftsmanship and safety.
Valid driver’s license preferred.
