About Yamaha Marine Precision Propellers, Inc.:

Precision Propellers Industries (PPI) started as a service shop for propellers in the late 1960's. Boaters, especially those that liked to go fast, came to the founder Jim Booe to "tweak" their prop to gain more performance in their boat. As business grew, it became apparent that you could build overall performance into the original design so it wouldn't take customization to a finished product. In the early 1980's, PPI began manufacturing the TURBO line of propellers. The company grew through both the TURBO line of propellers as well as building propellers for outboard brands as well as private label retailers and distributors.

In July of 2008, the assets of Precision Propeller, Inc. were purchased by Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. and became part of the Marine Group which includes Yamaha Outboards, Marine Rigging and Parts, Skeeter Performance Boats and G3 Boats. The investment casting manufacturing expertise of Precision Propeller combined with the distribution and product strength of Yamaha formed a perfect relationship. After shedding all other product lines except for Yamaha propellers, the company was renamed to Yamaha Marine Precision Propellers, Inc. (YPPI).

Today, YPPI designs and builds stainless steel propellers for distribution around the globe for Yamaha Outboards. The foundational process of investment casting has not changed, however investment from Yamaha corporate has allowed YPPI to add equipment and space to build more propellers for a growing marine market. YPPI and Yamaha partner together to design propellers to fit the 1000s of different boat

applications in the market. In total, YPPI manufacturers over 300 different propellers. All these different props help make up Yamaha's Endless Propeller Solutions line up of propellers.
