PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Performs all basic trailer repairs and general diagnostic work.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
-Repair and maintain company trailers using hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and machine tools
-Diagnose trouble and examine parts for defects and excessive wear
-Recondition and repair parts
-Perform routine maintenance checks including inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts
-Trailer mechanics may weld parts
-Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications/Experience
-General mechanical skills and aptitude
-Must have valid driver's license
-Must have own set of tools or be willing to purchase or rent
-Strong knowledge of computer applications
-Attention to detail
-Excellent oral and written communication skills
