Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Transport Driver to join our team. The Driver is responsible for the overall transportation and safety of participants. The driver will provide transportation for the participants to and from the center and for outside appointments in company provided van. The driver also provides participant transportation for outings as part of the activities program as well as pick-up and delivery of supplies and medications. The driver is responsible for maintaining transportation safety standards and daily cleanliness of the vehicles.
Duties
Drive vehicles in a safe and responsible manner utilizing defensive driving skills and following assigned routes
Load and unload participants in and out of Kinship Health vehicles and assist participants into and out of their homes in accordance with Kinship PACE standards of practice
Maintain courteous, helpful, and professional behavior on the job and display a willingness and ability to be responsive in a warm and caring manner
Complete all safety checks and related paperwork
Assist with food service and recreation services as available and needed
Respects participant rights, including confidentiality, at all times.
Reports any incident or change in the condition of the participant or environment to the supervisor immediately.
Follow all appropriate Kinship PACE policies.
Provides all information required for the maintenance of his/her personnel records.
Cooperates with supervisor and with participant/family.
Maintains an active, unrestricted driver’s license Safely operate vehicles for shuttle services, deliveries, or passenger transport.
Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while ensuring the safety of passengers at all times.
Assist with heavy lifting as needed when loading or unloading goods or equipment.
Document any incidents or maintenance needs promptly.
Experience
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must have a clean DMV driving record throughout entire employment with Kinship PACE.
Current American Heart Association BLS Certification.
At least one year of experience working with elderly population.
One year of previous commercial driving or commensurate experience.
Experience in transporting individuals with special mobility needs.
Knowledge of the area in which Kinship PACE is located.
Knowledge of use and maintenance of equipment (vehicle lifts, tie-downs, etc.).
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and ability to problem solve.
Must be able to speak, understand, and write English.
Must be able to lift, stoop, push, pull and bend effectively so as to be able to perform the above-listed job functions.
