POSITION SUMMARY: We're seeking a talented, multi-faceted graphic designer who is enthusiastic about working in the fashion and T shirt industry. You will join our design team and assist in the creation of product design and marketing materials. As a key member of the creative team, you must be willing to take on a wide variety of projects and back up other team members, as needed. This position is a professional production artist/illustrator with exceptional creative capabilities and experience with apparel design. The Designer will bring energy and out-of-the-box creative ideas to the team. They are responsible for creating original designs for all apparel categories.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):
Advanced graphic design skills with proficiency in t-shirt design and illustration.
Knowledge of Digital Photography and how to import/manipulate digital media. ⢠Design skills including drawing/sketching, painting, typography, color theory, texture and visual presentation.
Proficient at developing successful concepts and final artwork that is accurate for the markets we are targeting.
Strong Typography skills, including the ability to design fonts from scratch.
Ability to fully execute t-shirt designs in a wide variety of styles and/or combinations and customize styles to make them innovative and unique to retail markets.
Responds effectively and appropriately to creative feedback and representing it visually.
Thrives in a busy, multi-tasking environment and reacts quickly to shifting priorities, while maintaining strong attention to detail.
Ability to build strong relationships in a team environment, providing inspiration, motivation and a positive attitude.
Excellent work ethic, time and resource management; and willingness to "do what it takes" to meet deadlines when necessary.
Stay current with popular culture through magazines, movies, music and fashion and consistently seek new product knowledge.
Work with Art Director to manage workloads and keep track of art requests.
Knowledge of print production a plus including knowledge and experience with Screen print, sublimation and DTG experience helpful.
Ability to work independently, prioritize, execute utilizing available resources within short timelines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
⢠Formal Training (certified) and/or educational background in Graphic Arts required. AA or BA in Graphic Arts / Fine Arts / Illustration preferred
- 3-5 years' experience with graphic design with a preference in the apparel / T shirt industry.
Must have advanced knowledge and abilities with Adobe Creative Suite in a Mac environment, with an emphasis on Photoshop and Illustrator and Microsoft Office.
Self-motivated, with excellent communication and sound written skills.
