Responsibilities for this position will include the following:
o Repair trucks (tractors and trailers), using hand tools and power tools
o Routine preventive maintenance to ensure that trucks (tractors and trailers) continue to run smoothly
o Inspection and testing of trucks (tractors and trailers) to diagnose malfunctions
o Manage truck (tractor and trailer) parts inventory
o Manage tools and service truck
o Diagnose mechanical/electrical problems check blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary
o Login all Work orders and Issues in the shop management system, using laptop/pad
o Ensure DOT inspection and certification
Position Requirements:
o Minimum of a High school diploma is required.
o Manager would like to see candidates with anywhere between 5 â 10 yearsâ hands-on experience working on heavy duty trucks and/or other related or similar vehicles and equipment.
o Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.
Team player and detail oriented.
Strong knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
o Willingness to work in alternate shifts (including night shifts) and weekends on occasion
o Flexibility to commute to Indy on occasion
Key skills include:
o Repair or replace anything in the braking system
o Tire repairs and replacement
o Trailer body and door repairs
o Complete electrical, lighting and CANBUS system
o Proficient in diagnostics of all systems - charging, exhaust, cooling, driveline, etc.
o Electronic after-treatment diagnosis and repair
o Accurate decisions on component life and fluid leaks
o Frame repairs and Basic Arc or MIG welding
o Repairs related to cab and satellite systems
o Steering system
Additional skills: Good to have
o Identification of In-Warranty repairs
o Electronic engine diagnosis and repair
o Basic engine repair, clutch repair, transmission repair as required
