Join our mission today.Associate Director Systems Engineer - MDBSeThe Multi-Domain Battlespace Solutions Engineering (MDBSe) team is looking for a dynamic Systems Engineer to provide leadership supporting our strategic development programs. This role will maintain interaction with major OEMs and subcontractors, business development, program managers, and a globally distributed engineering team. This role will be the primary engineering design focal point for key external customers and internal program/engineering management. Job Responsibilities: Analysis and understanding of customer needs/requirements, responding to customer requests for proposals; definition and specification of system level requirements including authorship for systems architecture, preparing for and contributing to design reviews, writing and reviewing test plans and reports; allocation of requirements and systems level resources; definition and specification of deliverable engineering data; system level design, including risk identification and risk management; collaboration with support engineering and reporting of technical performance. Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience is required
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a Systems Lead, Engineering Manager, or Technical Project Manager
Project planning and execution on programs with more than 10 engineers
Experience with Modeling and Simulation of Avionics Software, Systems, and Hardware
Experience with Avionics Systems and Software Development
Systems engineering experience (minimum 12 years)
Demonstrated some experience with Agile software development and planning models
Ability to travel up to 15% over the course of a year
A successful candidate will possess: Excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work well with others in a professional team environment.
Demonstrated ability to represent company for system engineering at internal and external customer meetings
Serve as liaison between functional discipline groups and internal/external customers
Familiarity with military concepts of operations
Domain knowledge of commercial and/or military platforms
Strong leadership skills as demonstrated with interpersonal interaction, individual mentoring to develop the team composition, and training.
Experience pursuing high complexity program engineering change proposals.
