Responsibilities:
Participate on an Agile team to create and support applications for our customers
Design, write, and debug web-based applications
Work with team members to select programming languages, development tools and other technologies that provide the best solution for present and future needs
Follow and help establish best practices to ensure code is readable and maintainable
Test applications in multiple operating environments and configurations as needed
Follow release procedures and conduct a post-implementation review of updates
Review application content for accuracy and update as needed
Identify options that could make applications run more efficiently
Take advantage of new programming tools and new technologies to improve application development
Assist team members in understanding the advantages and constraints of application environment
Advise team members of new technologies that could provide new business opportunities
Stay current in the field through company provided and personal continuing technical education and development community involvement
Qualifications:
Education:
Associate's degree in computer science or related field technical field
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or related technical field preferred
Qualifications:
4+ years of intermediate level application development work experience preferred
Proficiency React / Redux, JavaScript, AngularJS, HTML5, CSS3 is desirable
Experience with Git/GitHub/pull request workflow
Agile/Scrum experience is a plus
Insurance experience is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of the language(s) and environments used to develop applications and programs
Thorough knowledge of the Project Lifecycle (SDLC) and ability to perform tasks as required
Understanding of moderately complex application development concepts and practices
Ability to identify and correct programming errors based on the objectives of a given application/program
Working knowledge of Windows desktop operating system and Office applications
Strong problem solving and reasoning skills
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
