Description
A PC Technician with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical users in an understandable and concise manner while solving complex technical issues is wanted at Robert Half Technology. The PC Technician Role is a long-term temporary opportunity and will be located in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa region.
What you get to do every day
- Help test functionality and support end users
- Install, troubleshoot and repair printers
- Own imaging and preparation of new computers
- Provide computer hardware support for PCs, laptops, monitors, servers, and other IT equipment, including diagnoses, repairs, rebuilds, and refurbishments
- Handle take down, packaging, transportation and setup/installation on site
- Manage equipment inventory, collaborating on purchases as needed
- Retain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and solutions or installations
- Provide frequent and effective communication with ticket submitters
- Communicate with suitable vendors to coordinate needed repairs
- Disassemble, box and ship equipment that is out of date
- Ensure the integrity of electronic data records, acting in accordance with company quality standards
- Manage and carry out a variety of technology implementation projects
- Oversee data transfers from PC to PC and troubleshoot software/hardware and break/fix
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience supporting PC and Mac hardware and software, as well as knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, and WAN
- Radio Frequency experience
- Live Radio experience
- Expertise in Basic Network Troubleshooting
- Experience with Cable Installation
- Strong familiarity with Radios
- Be able to adapt and thrive in constantly changing environments
- Knowledgeable of network design and implementation strategies
- Detailed and have the ability work independently
- Ability to handle multiple tasks to prioritize needs and expedite tasks upon request
- Active problem-solver who listens for customer cues and actively resolves problems with grace and integrity
- A certification in CompTIA A+ is mandatory
