DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Listed in order of relevance:
- Lead hardware design for a product line. Create or delegate the creation of Detailed Functional Specifications that describe the product architecture and that satisfy the Marketing product requirements.
- Create product schematics for microprocessor, analog, digital, and power circuits. Maintain Bills of Material
- Lead design reviews for new products or revisions.
- Mechanical design of enclosures, bezels, etc. related to new products
- Troubleshooting of prototypes using multimeter, oscilloscope and logic analyzer
- Support existing products lifecycle implementing design changes to address obsolescence and/or improvements
- Coordinate the movement of new products through the stage/gate process with other CCC departments.
- Work with contractors on the design and testing of outsourced assemblies.
- Respond to change productively and handle other duties as required.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related function; or equivalent work experience. Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred.
- 10+ years experience in hardware design and validation
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Experience making estimates for development time and resource
- Experience participating with FMEA (Failure Modes Effects Analysis)

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Electronic design experience with microprocessors, memory buses, analog and digital I/O
- Proficient in pcb layout and verification of pcb designs
- Design experience with microprocessors. ARM preferred.
- Design experience with FPGA programming (Verilog or VHDL, VHDL preferred). Experience coding is a plus
- Design experience with Ethernet and high-speed serial
- Experience or willingness in learning to solder
- Experience with the tools associated with the job role (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, multimeter, thermal camera)
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to read, speak, and write in English required.

WORKING CONTITIONS
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel for this role will be minimal.
