Position will sit on site in Urbandale once COVID restrictions are removed. Candidate is expected to be onsite once they return to the office (tentative Fall 2021). A User Experience (UX) Interaction Designer for the John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG-Urbandale) supports projects of small to medium complexity through the development of UI task flows, wireframes, prototypes through to final production for new products and the resolution of issues with current production products. Major Duties Applies knowledge of usability, human factors, and UI processes to create innovative user experiences.
Assists team members in pre and post-development usability testing.
Creates and maintains project and overall system design artifacts
Works with the development team and test organization to ensure that new features are implemented according to specifications.
Note: A portfolio is required at application (website URL or attachment) to demonstrate strong conceptual and analytical skills and ability to prototype and design elegant UI solutions to complex user problems. Technical Skills and Knowledge
Minimum two years of UX design experience
Experience in the use of at least two design and prototyping tools, such as: Sketch, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe XD, Balsamiq, InVision, or Figma to create user interfaces
Demonstrate use of typography principles
Ability to think in terms of holistic design, apply strategic thinking and business goals to design work, focus on usability, and understand aesthetic values.
Experience managing multiple projects and effective time management skills
Ability to translate customer needs into design and articulate that design to technical and non-technical team members
Demonstrate effective communication and presentation skills

Work at this level is of low to moderate complexity covering a single user class and a limited number of personas.
Designs result in low to moderately complex solutions and/or component(s) of a larger or more complex solution supporting serial, self-contained processes with low to moderately complex back-end systems.
DUTIES:
Creates and designs elements or components resulting in high quality user experience designs. Incorporates branding and common design guidelines into products.
Creates wireframes, mock-ups, prototypes and specifications.
Maintains style guides for varying methods of delivery.
Follows appropriate design methodology, tools, and protocols to conduct user-centered design.
Education (or equivalent work experience)
Equivalent work experience or degree in the following: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Industrial Design or related discipline
Candidates should not come from a Development background.
Candidates that are a good match for this position will have strong Design Experience. Specifically experience with Sketch and Invision is needed.
